WASTELAND INSTALLATION

An Apocalyptic landscape and a further development of the installation “Wasteland” is one of my main concerns of this project. The installation aimed to encompass the entire project space. It utilized real bricks as well as surrogate onesmade from foam and debris that had been leftover from my previous paintings alongside with a rusty iron wire and black fabric to create a kind of a desolated cityscape on the verse of disintegration, with the upright standing bricks looking like bomb-wrecked buildings. The installation also incorporated for the first time a body as a sort of ‘human debris' - an appeal to take the lingering and imminent destruction of out world and humanity seriously.
